SPOKANE, Wash. — A federal judge in Spokane has sentenced a man to 12 years in prison for distributing material of children being sexually abused.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the FBI began investigating 43-year-old Donald Griffin Jr. suspecting him of possessing abuse material in November 2019.
Investigators served a warrant in March 2020 and found multiple images of abuse material on electronic devices. Griffin also admitted to using online platforms to get the material.
Investigators said Griffin both sent and solicited abuse material.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office also said a citizen reached out to them saying they were posing as an 11-year-old child on Instagram and Griffen sent explicit photos of himself to them and discussed having sex.
Griffin was sentenced to 144 months in prison, a lifetime of supervised release, and will have to register as a sex offender.
