LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Liberty Lake police arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly performed burnouts in a public park parking lot where children were present.
Police were alerted to the reckless driving incident after a community member posted about it in a local Facebook group.
According to the Liberty Lake Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. Sunday when a black BMW Z series convertible began doing burnouts in the Pavilion parking lot, just south of Liberty Lake Skate Park.
Multiple witnesses observed the incident, and children were present in the area at the time, police said.
City officials assessed the damage to the parking lot on Monday and estimated repairs will cost approximately $1,600.
According to officials, a community member identified both the vehicle and driver, reporting they had previously seen the same vehicle speeding through residential areas and near schools.
Officers used Flock Safety camera images to confirm the driver’s identity.
Tinkoi was booked into Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree malicious mischief, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment.
The investigation remains ongoing.
