SPOKANE, Wash. — Firefighters rescued two kids stuck on a sand embankment at Hangman Creek on Sunday afternoon, according to Spokane Fire Department.
On March 30 around 1 p.m., SFD responded to a call about two 11-year-olds stuck on a sand embankment below High Drive, near Manito Boulevard.
According to SFD, the kids started slipping while climbing the embankment. Their parents told them to stop and not to keep climbing because of the risk of falling into the creek below.
The parents called 911.
When they arrived, firefighters used ropes and harnesses to safely bring the kids up to High Drive.
As of 2 p.m.,bHigh Drive is closed from Manito Blvd to Bernard Street.
No injuries were reported.
