NORTHPORT, Wash. — A man was shot and killed by deputies on Sunday, while attempting to serve a felony arrest warrant south of Northport.
At approximately 5:14 p.m., Stevens County Deputies confronted the subject, who was armed and refused to surrender.
After several minutes of negotiations and attempts to de-escalate, the man fled on foot.
Stevens County Sheriff’s Office said deputies deployed non-lethal pepper balls, but the man drew his firearm, leading deputies to use lethal force.
The man was transported to a Colville hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
