WSU Athletic Director Anne McCoy made the announcement in a social media post.
She said Jake Dickert informed WSU this morning that he’s taken the job at Wake Forest and said Kaligis will be the acting head coach for the bowl game against Syracuse.
“This team has worked so hard and accomplished a great deal this year,” McCoy said. “They deserve to end the season with the memorable bowl game experience.”
The Cougs will be without several coaches who have taken new jobs and without a number of starters who have entered the transfer portal.
Kaligis has been with the Cougs since 2022. He previously coached at Wyoming.
