SPOKANE, Wash. — A man accused of stabbing one person to death in East Central last month was arrested early Tuesday morning in downtown Spokane.
According to Spokane Police, officers along South Maple Street saw a vehicle parked with 33-year-old Orlando Jaramillo and an unidentified woman inside just after 1 a.m.
While officers were investigating a possible protection order violation related to the two in the car, Jaramillo tried to run from the scene.
Officers detained Jaramillo a short distance away.
SPD said there was probable cause to arrest Jaramillo for a stabbing that left one person dead on East 1st Avenue on Oct. 29.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail for second-degree murder.
