SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane Starbucks is among the 250 stores across the United States that have closed this weekend.
According to the Starbucks Store Locator, the Spokane location at 2401 West Wellesley Avenue is permanently closed. It was the only Starbucks in Spokane that was unionized.
The company announced earlier this week it was shuttering locations where it doesn’t believe it can deliver acceptable experiences for customers.
It’s part of the chain’s years-long turnaround plan that has helped reverse a sales slump.
Starbucks has said it has been focusing on upgrading stores and improving customer service.
Employees at the closed locations were offered transfers when possible, and severance when not.
