SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga Bulldogs (1-0) used a hot-shooting fourth quarter to overcome a North Dakota State (1-0) lead, beating the Bison 62-56.
The Zags shot poorly overall, hitting just 5-of-18 from three after owning one of the best marks beyond the arc last season.
Lauren Whittaked led GU with 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Teryn Gardner hit two clutch three-pointers late to secure the win.
Gonzaga next hosts the Idaho Vandals at The Kennel Friday evening at six o’clock.
