COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The Coeur d’Alene Vikings (7-0) stay unbeaten after a 37-24 win over the Rigby Trojans (5-1).
The Vikings got sweet revenge after a 38-7 beatdown at Rigby to open the 2025 season; tonight’s game featured a 50+ yard bomb from quarterback Tanner Stern to wide receiver Gibson Comstock, pushing the second-half lead to two scores.
The win knocks off the back-to-back defending IHSAA 6A state champions, and it’s Coeur d’Alene’s third win over Rigby across the last five years.
The Vikings were the No. 3-ranked team in the state before tonight, and by knocking off No. 2, they could jump into a hosting spot for future playoffs.
Coeur d’Alene will host Lake City next for their first of two Inland Empire Conference games. Kickoff is Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:00 p.m.
