CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington men’s basketball will have one of its top offensive players back on the court this season.
Guard Andrew Cook has been granted a preliminary injunction in Washington state court, allowing him to play for the Eagles during the 2026-27 season while his NCAA eligibility case continues.
Cook missed all of last season due to injury. He last played for Eastern during the 2024-25 season, when he quickly established himself as one of the team’s top scoring options.
The Huntington Beach, California, native averaged 15.8 points per game while shooting 54.4% from the field. He started 27 of 31 games, scored in double figures 25 times and had 10 games with at least 20 points.
“It’s been a tumultuous year for him, as he’s dealt with many unknowns since his injury,” Eastern head coach Dan Monson said. “Our Eastern community has supported him from day one.”
With the preliminary injunction in place, Cook is expected to return to the Eagles for the upcoming season. Eastern Washington opens its 2026-27 campaign Nov. 2 at Stanford.
