SPOKANE, Wash. – Another preseason exit for Zags men’s basketball, as assistant coach and director of basketball operations Jorge Sanz departs Spokane for Chapel Hill.
Sanz joins new North Carolina head coach Michael Malone as an assistant coach.
The Spain native spent eight years with Gonzaga, originally joining in 2018, promoted to director of basketball operations in 2019, and an assistant coaching spot in 2023.
Sanz helped the Zags with scheduling non-conference games and recruiting international talent.
