SPOKANE, Wash. — The Downtown Spokane Partnership is bringing fitness to the heart of the city with a brand new free workout series that transforms Post Street into an outdoor exercise space.
The Post Work-Out Series, running through the end of summer, offers mat-based fitness classes designed to make exercise accessible and convenient for the community. Thursday, July 23rd marks the third class in the series, featuring a total body conditioning session led by The Union.
“I think it will be fun and get out and move in a place that is maybe a little less conventional for fitness,” said Joey, a participant in the series.
Elisabeth Hooker, with the Downtown Spokane Partnership, highlighted the unique appeal of exercising in the city center. “It is such a great opportunity to just feel calm and centered in the middle of downtown. And it is really fun to see people walking out with your yoga mats and getting ready for something a little bit different after work,” Hooker said.
Organizers say the series is open to people of all ages and fitness levels. Classes take place every Thursday through the end of August. Participants are asked to complete a waiver before the class. You can find more information on the program here.
