OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — The Washington State Fire Marshal approved state fire assistance to help fight the approx. 2,000-acre B and O Fire in Okanogan County.
Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized sending state firefighting resources to help at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday at the request of Okanogan County Fire District 3. Specialists from the Fire Protection Bureau and personnel from the State Fire Marshal’s Office are en route and working remotely to coordinate resources on this fire.
According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the B and O fire started at about 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. It is currently estimated to be 2,000 acres and growing.
The fire is burning in grass and brush and is threatening homes, infrastructure, and public safety.
Level 2 (Get Set) and Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations have been issued for this fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
