SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane is about to host a brand new large-scale, multi-stage music festival this weekend, with the Blessing in Disguise Music Festival (BID) bringing some of the biggest names in music to downtown venues.
The one-day festival has been years in the making for the Spokane Public Facilities District, which is bringing the event.
“It is crazy to think that after three years it is finally here,” said Matt Meyer, director of entertainment of the Spokane Public Facilities District. “The team and myself, we are all excited, and we are all nervous at the same time. But we are here and it is going to be great.”
The festival will feature 20 artists performing across four stages in close proximity. The Main Stage and Side Stage are located at One Spokane Stadium, the West Stage sits near the intersection of Joe Albi Way and North Howard Street, and The Podium is home to the Podium Stage.
The lineup includes headliners Macklemore and AJR, along with AWOLNATION, Allen Stone & Special Guests, Mother Mother, Everclear, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Stephen Day, Izzy Escobar, Vienna Vienna, Ayron Jones, Tim Montana, Chinese American Bear, Gunnar, Frances Browne, The Jaws of Brooklyn, The Residency, NOT.GREENDAY, and Nothing Shameful.
Organizers said the festival hopes to bring the community together through music, art, food, and shared experiences.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are available online at ticketswest.com or at the door outside the festival grounds.
