Spokane, WASH– Hoopfest, the world’s largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament started this morning at 8 a.m. and will be going on all weekend.
More than 40 city blocks are blocked off for this basketball tournament and there are about 400 courts where people are playing.
The tournament is expecting almost 20,000 players this year.
For those looking to avoid downtown traffic, Spokane Transit is running Hoopfest service that connects Jefferson Lot and University District lots (WSU Spokane and Gonzaga), to the tournament. Riders can board the City Line or take advantage of regular bus routes, with all-day access available for $2.
