SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A motorcyclist was injured and a driver fled the scene after a road rage incident involving multiple vehicles Thursday afternoon on Highway 27 near 24th Avenue, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash occurred about 4:20 p.m. June 17 when two vehicles traveling southbound on Highway 27 became involved in a road rage confrontation. During the incident, one of the vehicles struck a motorcycle, causing it to come to rest on 24th Avenue. The driver of the striking vehicle then fled, WSP said.
The motorcyclist, Brant W. Schultz, 27, was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center for treatment. Two occupants of a third vehicle, Georgia Pilgrim, 79, and Roger Pilgrim, 82, were not injured.
WSP identified the fleeing driver as Jayson C. Franks, 30. He faces potential charges of assault, felony hit-and-run and vehicular assault.
The crash remains under investigation.
