SPOKANE, Wash. — Garden enthusiasts and families looking for a memorable weekend activity can explore six spectacular North Spokane gardens during the Spokane in Bloom Garden Show this Sunday.
The community event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers visitors the chance to walk through private gardens that showcase distinct styles and creative landscaping approaches.
One featured garden highlights a SpokaneScape design that focuses on native plants rather than traditional lawns in an effort to conserve water. The home, owned by Robin and Tim Bienemann, also features a beautiful backyard that the couple has been working on for the last few years.
“It brings me so much joy to spend time and create an environment like this, and it is nice to be able to share it. You can have a lovely picnic, and it is going to be a lot of fun,” said Robin.
The event serves as both entertainment and education for the community, according to organizers.
“This is a great community event. It just really showcases the beauty of our region here in Spokane, and we really hope that homeowners can see all of the creativity and get some inspiration for their own gardens,” said Kerista Knutsen, tour director.
Beyond the garden tours, visitors can browse offerings from more than 30 vendors set up outside the featured gardens. Vendors will feature garden art, handmade goods, plant starts, and food.
