Exciting changes are on the way for the 4 News Now team, with news anchor changes happening in both the morning and the evening.
After four years anchoring 4 News Now at 5 and 6, Kirstin O’Connor is leaving the newsroom for a job outside of television. Kirstin has been a key member of our news team, co-anchoring with Derek Deis and reporting in the field on important local issues.
“We are so grateful for the experience, energy and passion Kirstin brought to our newsroom at an important time,” said 4 News Now News Director Melissa Luck. “It has been a privilege to watch Kirstin not only connect with the community, but also mentor our journalists and lead by example every day. I’m sad to lose her, but excited for Kirstin and her family in this next phase of their lives.”
Kirstin’s last day is Friday, June 12th.
A familiar face will join Derek Deis and Kris Crocker on the evening newscasts. After 15 years anchoring Good Morning Northwest, Robyn Nance will turn off her 1:45 am alarm clock and rejoin the evening team.
Robyn has been with 4 News Now since 2003. She anchored the evening newscasts before moving to mornings.
Robyn is a distinguished, award-winning anchor and reporter and was recently inducted into the Northwest Association of Television Arts and Science Silver Circle.
Derek and Robyn have a long history together. They anchored Good Morning Northwest for more than a decade before Derek moved to the evening newscasts. Robyn and Kris Crocker worked together on the evening newscasts for years before that.
“Robyn is the ultimate pro,” Luck said. “She’s been a leader in our community both as a journalist and as a passionate supporter of local non-profits. She has been a trusted voice in the Inland Northwest for decades. Robyn, Derek and Kris make such a great team and I’m grateful we get to see them together again.”
More changes are coming to the Good Morning Northwest team for KXLY and on Fox 28. A new partner for Natalie Grant and Matt Gray will be announced soon.
