SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Dig into a summer of reading and discovery with the Spokane County Library District’s Summer Reading Program!
This year’s online summer reading challenge2, themed Unearth a Story, will take place from June 1 until August 31.
It is open for readers of all ages and is separated into four age groups: early learners, kids, teens and adults. Every child and teen who registers can visit an SCLD library to choose a new book to keep forever.
Log your reading, earn digital badges for rewards and prize drawings, and complete fun activities all summer long.
All age groups will have the same reading goals. You will earn a digital badge for every 60 minutes of reading. The challenge will be marked complete at 600 minutes of reading.
Activities for each age group differ.
After kids ages 5-17 complete four hours of reading, they can claim one free soccer ticket with the purchase of a ticket to a Spokane Velocity FC match.
Once children finish 7 and a half hours of reading, they will earn one free admission to the Spokane County Interstate Fair.
When you complete the challenge, no matter what age group you are in, you will be entered into the grand prize drawing for your age group and earn a Certificate of Achievement.
