SPOKANE, Wash. — Besides coaches, fans, and families, another important figure on the sidelines of this weekend’s State B tournament in Spokane is the sport medicine professionals.
This year, Shriner’s Sports Medicine Team is the official tournament medical provider.
Sports medicine doctors and athletic trainers set up their resources in between the two basketball courts to assess and treat any injuries.
They also offered preventative care to athletes.
“We see everything. It’s like we truly are a comprehensive medical care. Anything from taped ankles, specialized stretching, anything like that to emergency care, on the court evaluations,” said licensed athletic trainer Addisyn Samuelson.
The sports medicine team from Shriners will continue to offer support throughout the weekend.
