SPOKANE, Wash. — SCRAPS is delaying its full reopening to the public due to new cases of parvovirus detected in its animals.
SCRAPS previously closed when the virus was detected around the holidays, but reopened puppy adoption last week.
According to SCRAPS, the adult dog adoption floor will now be closed for a 14-day window with which no new cases can be detected before reopening.
SCRAPS says all the affected animals are receiving treatment, and it will start giving vaccine boosters every two weeks to all dogs to increase virus protection.
SCRAPS adds puppies are cleared for adoption still and have not been exposed to parvovirus.
