PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State football continues to make some major transfer portal splashes, adding five new players to its 2026 roster.
First is a familiar face to the Cougs, former Idaho Vandals defensive end Matyus McLain. He finished with an All-Big Sky honorable mention nod, and he forced a key late fumble to help Idaho almost pull off an upset in Pullman last August.
Jshawn Frausto-Ramos joins WSU from Arizona, although he last saw the field in 2024 for Stanford. The defensive back was a consensus four-star high school recruit, and he tallied three tackles against Washington State in the Cardinal’s 2024 game in Pullman.
Edge rusher DJ Warner was a top-70 high school recruit, and showcased his raw talent in the ACC last season at SMU. He played 12 games at Kansas two years ago and another 12 for the Mustangs.
Defensive tackle Balaam Miller hails from the FCS Saint Francis Red Flash, and he brings a 6’4, 300+ pound frame to the Palouse. He chose the Cougs over Memphis, Colorado State and Boston College.
One of the most unique adds in college football is tight end Nathanial Salmon. The New Zealander recently wrapped his professional basketball career in Australia’s NBL, and he only picked up gridiron football two years ago. Salmon earned a spot in the Los Angeles Chargers rookie mini camp, and he brings his collegiate debut to Washington State.
