SPOKANE, Wash. – Following an uncomfortably tight win over the San Diego Toreros, the No. 7 Gonzaga Bulldogs (15-1) let their fans sweat a bit more in a comeback overtime win over the Seattle U Redhawks (12-4).
The Zags trailed by as much as 13 in the second half, racing on a 16-6 run over the final eight minutes of regulation to force overtime. GU outscored Seattle U 15-7 over the extra five-minute period.
Braden Huff, Graham Ike and Tyon Grant-Foster hugely contributed to the win: Huff led all scorers with 28, Ike’s second-half explosion fueled the tying effort, and Grant-Foster scored eight of the 15 overtime points.
Gonzaga earns their first home WCC win this season in Seattle U’s first visit to the McCarthey Athletic Center, and their first game against the Zags since 1980.
GU stays at home this weekend in a battle against the LMU Lions this Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
