GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol will be holding New Year’s Eve DUI emphasis patrols tonight.
WSP says these patrols will be in effect throughout Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Kittitas Counties.
“We can avoid unnecessary tragedy by arresting impaired drivers before serious injury or fatality collisions occur,” said WSP District 6 Captain Daniel Richmond. “We are seeing a statewide decrease in DUI related fatalities and serious injury collisions which is exactly why we do these types of emphasis patrols.”
WSP says impaired driving puts everyone at risk. If you plan to drink responsibly this New Year’s Eve, make sure to make responsible driving choices, such as appointing a designated driver, using public transportation, or ordering an Uber or taxi.
