SPOKANE, Wash. – A popular app developed in Spokane and now used nationwide is expanding its services to include happy-hour deals and daily specials at local restaurants.
YayDay, created by Johnny Warren, has grown to serve over 100,000 users across the country since 2022. The app has been the go-to platform for birthday freebies and is now rolling out a new feature in Spokane.
“Everyone loves a discount. Everyone wants to feel like they’re getting the deal. Right. So people are looking now for happy hours and promos,” Warren said.
The timing appears strategic as drink and food prices continue to rise, making affordable options increasingly attractive to consumers. The new feature represents a win for businesses, often drawing in more customers eager to try something new without breaking the bank.
For restaurants to get on the app, it costs $40 a month as a subscription service. YayDay hopes restaurants look at it as an investment to bring more customers through their doors.
Jeremy Tangen, a Spokane restaurateur who owns multiple restaurants, including Fast Eddies and Borrachos, is a fan of YayDay and the new feature coming.
“They can look around and see what the businesses are offering, and as I mentioned before, kind of match that with what they’re looking to experience,” Tangen said.
The app’s interface makes it simple for users to find deals, providing convenient access to multiple restaurant promotions.
“So you open the app. What’s closest to you will show you click on the Happy Hour tab and they’re all right there,” Warren explained.
For consumers, the platform eliminates the need to search individual restaurant websites for deals.
“They don’t want to search everything, you know, one by one, over the web. So it’s nice that they can now open up a single app and be able to look at all the different locations,” Tangen said.
The convenience factor allows customers to easily compare options and make informed decisions about where to dine.
“That way they can pick and choose and have all that knowledge right there, in the palm of their hand,” Tangen added.
When people see something they like nearby at the right price point, it may attract a new customer who will return. Restaurant owners see this as a valuable customer acquisition strategy.
“They’re looking for new ways to bring people into the door, and we can help drive that business,” Warren said.
YayDay’s new feature rolls out by the end of the week. You can download YayDay on Apple App Store here or Google Play store by clicking here.
