SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The No. 7 Gonzaga Bulldogs (13-1) shook off a rocky finish to put away the San Diego Toreros (6-8), 99-93, and start 2-0 in WCC play.
Zags’ Jalen Warley exploded for 22 points and 14 rebounds, plus three steals and a block on the defensive side. The senior helped anchor a Zags team without star big man Graham Ike for most of the game, as he rode the bench with foul trouble.
Warley, Mario Saint-Supery, and Tyon Grant-Foster combined scored 54 bench points compared to 45 starter points between Ike (11), Braden Huff (14), Braeden Smith (7), Emmanuel Innocenti (7), and Steele Venters (6).
GU clinches its 20th-straight win over USD.
The Zags return to action this Friday at 6:00 p.m. against the Seattle U Redhawks.
