SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane is offering free curbside fresh-cut Christmas tree pickup starting this week.
Beginning on Monday, Jan, 5 until Friday, Jan. 16, you can place your fresh-cut tree out on the curb for pick up on your normal collection day.
The city says before you put your tree out, make sure to remove all the decorations and lights and cut the tree so it is no taller than six feet and the trunk is no bigger than three inches in diameter.
Loose branches may be bundled next to the tree. Make sure the tree is placed at least three feet away from the garbage and recycling carts.
No artificial or flocked trees are accepted through this service.
City and county residents can also take their undecorated, unflocked trees to the Waste to Energy Facility, the Spokane Valley Transfer Station or the North County Transfer Station. Trees taken to these facilities are subject to the minimum charge for green disposal and will be composted.
