SPOKANE, Wash. – The North Central Wolfpack pulled off a legendary 10-peat tonight, winning the Groovy Shoes trophy for now a decade straight.
North Central in a cars and racing theme competed with rivals Shadle Park in a Scottish theme for the unusual sneakers.
On the court, North Central (4-2) got revenge from an upset loss last year, putting away the Highlanders 73-49 from a 22-point night by Tyson Vogrig. Ja’Mir Johnson paced Shadle (1-6) with 19.
In the later girls game, Shadle Park (3-4) flipped the script, beating North Central (1-5) 54-40.
Mackenzie Fager dropped 32 points, two shy of her career high, including huge threes to push away an NC comeback late.
