LOS ANGELES – Washington State came up short as USC pulled away late for a 68-61 win in Los Angeles.
The Cougars stayed within striking distance, but the Trojans led 33-26 at halftime.
Washington State chipped away at the deficit after the break and even cut USCs’ lead to single digits. The Cougars were unable to finish down the stretch, dropping a hard-fought road game against the Trojans.
The Cougars look ahead to the 509 Classic at the Spokane Arena, where they’ll face the Eastern Washington Eagles on Wednesday December 17 at 7 p.m.
