WSP said a white pickup truck, driven by a 62-year-old man from Twisp, was driving south on Highway 97 when it crossed over the center line and hit three oncoming vehicles in the northbound lane.
The pickup truck then rolled and came to rest in a ditch on its driver’s side.
The 62-year-old pickup driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
A 53-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man in two other vehicles were also transported to the hospital for their injuries.
WSP said drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash, but the specific cause is still under investigation.
