ATHOL, Idaho — If you’re out on the water in North Idaho on Sunday, local law enforcement wants you to be extra aware of the wildfire burning in the area.
Around 10 a.m. on August 17, Bonner County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning to boaters on Lake Pend Oreille to be aware of possible falling ash and debris from the 2,780-acre Sunset Fire burning northeast of Athol.
BCSO said boaters and others on Lake Pend Oreille should use extreme caution.
Level 3 (GO NOW), Level 2 (GET SET) and Level 1 (GET READY) evacuations are in place for certain areas near the Sunset Fire. Click here for the most up-to-date evacuation.
