DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — Douglas County deputies now have some new resources to use when responding to those in crisis.
On Wednesday, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office announced its new partnership with BlueBridge Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing public safety by fostering greater public trust in law enforcement.
The partnership provides DCSO deputies with resources to help provide immediate relief to community members in distress. Deputies might provide food, clothing, shelter, fuel, transportation, or help affording necessary medication.
“Such interactions create opportunities to reach those at risk of criminal behavior, as well as those who are victims of crime, homelessness, or mental health crises,” wrote DCSO in a press release.
