ATHOL, Idaho — The community is invited to learn and give feedback on a future construction project on Highway 95 near Parks Road in Athol.
According to the Idaho Transportation Department, the proposed highway improvements include getting rid of left turns and median crossing to allow right-in/right-out access only to Highway 95 from Parks Road, building a new road in the east side of Highway 95 from Parks Road to Lawrence Road, coordiating with the Lakes Highway District to realign Old Highway 95 to Parks Road and addressing congestion issues near the Bunco Road interchance and near the Bunco Road/Pope Road intersection.
ITD says construction is still several years away, but designs for the project are starting now.
The community is invited to attend an in-person meeting about the project on Tuesday, August 19 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 6303 East Parks Road in Athol.
Staff will be available to walk people through plans, answer questions and hear feedback.
The information at the meeting will be available online starting August 19 until September 5.
Construction is set to begin in 2031.
