SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A woman was arrested after an hours-long standoff in Spokane Valley Thursday night.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said 58-year-old Tandy Parker had been drinking at a home in the area of 15th and Dartmouth just before 7 p.m.
Deputies said they were called when Parker began to argue with her partner, and it escalated into her physically assaulting him.
The Sheriff’s Office said they made the decision to bring SWAT to the house, because Parker refused to come outside and had access to firearms inside.
Many people living near this neighborhood reported seeing and hearing a sheriff’s helicopter circling the area Thursday evening.
Deputies said SWAT finally went into the home around 11 p.m. and took Tandy into custody, noting that she didn’t put up a fight.
Tandy faces charges of 4th degree assault and resisting arrest. She’s being held without bail until her first court appearance.
