MEAD, Wash. — Firefighters were able to get a handle on a house fire in Mead early Thursday morning.
According to Spokane County Fire District 9, a single-wide caught fire around 2:30 a.m. on Chatham Avenue near Wilson Street.
Firefighters say smoke alarms were working properly and people inside the home were able to get out safely.
The cause is under investigation, but fire was visible on the outside of the home.
