MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A Moses Lake man was sentenced to over 37 years in prison for shooting at Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies in 2022.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Robert Gwinn of Moses Lake pleaded guilty to assault with a firearm in the first degree and second-degree assault. In total, he was sentenced to 37 and a half years in prison, followed by 3 years of parole.
On July 10, 2022, Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to help bail bondsmen arrest Gwinn along Stratford Road Northwest north of Moses Lake.
Gwinn was driving a stolen car and pulled into a driveway along the road. A deputy slowed down to contact him.
Gwinn opened fire on the deputy, who shot back while still inside his patrol car.
Gwinn was arrested a short while later by the Moses Lake Police Department.
Gwinn was injured in the shoulder and was treated for his injury before being booked into jail.
