STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Containment and acreage have both grown for the wildfire burning in Stevens County.
According to incident command, the Hope Fire near Northport has burned almost 7,800 acres, or 12 square miles, and is 25% contained.
On Friday, crews will construct fire lines on the northwest side of the fire to connect Lael Road and Crown Creek Road. Firefighters expect more containment by the end of the day.
The Forest Service has closed Lael Road and Crown Creek Road.
Evacuations remain in effect and the latest orders can be found from Stevens County Emergency Management.
