STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. — Some evacuation levels have been lowered for the wildfire burning near Kettle Falls on Thursday afternoon, according to Stevens County Emergency Management.
On Thursday morning, SCEM said the area east of Northport Flat Creek Road was downgraded to Level 2 (GET SET) evacuations. As of Thursday evening, Northport Flat Creek Road is still closed to outside traffic.
People who need to use the road to get home will need to check in at the roadblock.
Crews are working to control the fire, establish and strengthen fire lines and mop up hot spots.
The Hope Fire started on July 8 and has burned an estimated 7,400 acres, or 11.5 square miles, and is 20% contained.
Level 3 (GO NOW), Level 2 (GET SET) and Level 1 (BE READY) evacuations are still in place. For the latest evacuation map and information, see Stevens County Emergency Management on Facebook.
