SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A woman was arrested Tuesday morning for stealing a delivery truck from a business in Spokane Valley.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Nicki L. Bossard stole the truck from a business on N. Fancher Road around 4 p.m. on Monday.
On Tuesday afternoon, deputies responded to a trespassing call at a property on East Broadway Avenue. A silver car and a trailer were parked on the property.
When deputies arrived, they also spotted the stolen delivery truck on the property. Deputies then told anyone inside the trailer to exit.
Bossard got out of the trailer and was detained. Bossard claimed she was the only one inside the trailer, but after deputies called a few more times for everyone inside to exit, a man exited the trailer and was also detained.
When questioned, Bossard said she borrowed the delivery truck from a friend. Bossard said this friend “acquires vehicles often,” but she doesn’t ask where he gets them.
SCSO said the truck’s right-side window was broken and the ignition had been modified so it no longer needed a key to start.
Bossard said her friend lost the key and the truck had to be started with a screwdriver.
Bossard was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.
The man who was detained in the trailer said he didn’t know anything about the stolen truck and was released without charges.
