PORTLAND, Ore. – The Spokane Chiefs rocked the nets yet again this series, overrunning the Portland Winterhawks in an 8-5 win to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.
Eight different skaters scored Spokane’s eight goals tonight, Will McIsaac and Preston Mathis added three assists on top of their goals.
Captain Berkly Catton scored his record-34th point, the most ever by a Chief in a single postseason. He already holds the record for the most assists in a single postseason with 26.
Spokane hasn’t held a 3-0 series lead in a conference finals series since 2008, the same year they not only won the Western Conference and WHL, but the Memorial Cup, too.
Puck drop for Game 4 is tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. back in Portland.
