SPOKANE, Wash. — An armed felon who led Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies in a chase with his young son in the car in 2022 has been sentenced to over six years in federal prison.
43-year-old Keith Lamarr Williams was sentenced to 80 months in prison for one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition on April 23, 2025.
According to court documents, Williams’ ex-girlfriend told deputies on October 18, 2022 that Williams had been parking and watching their daughter walk to school. On that day, Williams was sitting in his vehicle with a view of the ex-girlfriend’s apartment.
When the ex-girlfriend and her husband told Williams to leave, he pulled out a gun and demanded to see his daughter before driving off.
Williams led deputies on a police pursuit until he crashed. Williams tried to escape on foot but was taken into custody.
Court documents said Williams’ two-year-old son was in the vehicle when this all occurred.
Also in the vehicle were a pistol with a bullet in the chamber and a magazine with 12 rounds of ammunition.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington said Williams had been previously convicted of felony drug charges and had been released from prison 7 months before this arrest.
“This case could have ended in tragedy,” stated Acting United States Attorney Barker. “Mr. Williams put his own family and others in danger by fleeing from law enforcement with a loaded gun in the car. Felons who possess firearms are a threat to public safety, and we will continue to hold them accountable—especially when children are placed in harm’s way.”
