SPOKANE, Wash. — To celebrate Arbor Day early, On Track Academy in Spokane is hosting its 5th annual Tree Hero event on April 19th.
The school touts itself as a ‘green’ school by offering students more outdoor educational opportunities that they can share with their families, neighbors, and the community.
On April 19 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., On Track Academy plans to give out 1,000 tree seedlings to anyone in the community for free.
In addition, the school will have stations set up to provide education on environmental topics, and provide food, music and a carnival-like atmosphere.
Students will also share what they’ve learned about expanding the community’s tree canopy, composting, and sustainability.
On Track’s Wellness Club will provide free produce from local farmers through the Zilch program of 2nd Harvest.
