FARGO, N. Dak. – The Washington State Cougars fell to the North Dakota State Bison 59-51 in the WNIT third round, ending the Cougars season.
WSU trailed 16-9 after the first quarter, but rallied in the middle quarters, outscoring the Bison 29-22 in the second and third frames.
NDSU roared back in the fourth, holding Wazzu to zero points for seven of the 10 fourth-quarter minutes.
Alex Covill and Eleonora Villa tied with 14 points each to led the Cougs, Astera Tuhina’s 10 rebounds is her first double-digit rebounding game of the season.
This loss ends WSU’s season at 21-14, 7-8 on the road. It was their first-ever third-straight 20+ win season.
