KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — A man was arrested or threatening his neighbor with a gun on Gold Rush Road, leading to a temporary shelter-in-place Saturday morning.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, 60-year-old Matthew Bowen went over to the victim’s property around 10:30 a.m. Saturday and was very argumentative. Bowen flashed a gun and pointed it at someone in the home. KCSO said Bowen fired the gun shortly after leaving the property.
Deputies found Bowen at his home one street over. KCSO said he refused to cooperate with deputies and a shelter-in-place was issued for the area.
SWAT arrived on scene a short while later and Bowen surrendered without incident.
KCSO said it is unclear what caused the initial argument.
Bowen was arrested for aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
