SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A woman was arrested for trying to break into multiple homes on North Cedar Road just outside of Deer Park earlier this month.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Andrea M. Fields tried to enter a home around 7 a.m. on March 6. Fields told the people living inside the home that she was kidnapped the day before and had been on the run.
Fields ran away when someone inside the home called 911.
A short while later, Fields tried to break into another nearby home. When confronted, she refused to leave. The victim left their home and called law enforcement.
When deputies arrived, Fields refused to leave the home. SCSO said it entered the home and noticed it was damaged.
After searching the home, SCSO said it heard sounds coming from the attic and saw damage to the ceiling that looked like someone was moving around in the attic.
Fields eventually chose to surrender and was taken into custody.
SCSO said Fields explained she was experiencing a lot of anxiety and became paranoid. She admitted to trying to break into both homes and said she did not know the people who lived there.
Fields was booked into Spokane County Jail for residential burglary and malicious mischief.
