SPOKANE, Wash. – Downtown Spokane clean teams are stepping up their game, as thousands of sports fans will soon stream into the Lilac City.
Spokane will host the Pacific Northwest Qualifier for volleyball teams and the NCAA women’s basketball team over the next several weekends.
Downtown Spokane Partnership will place an emphasis on cleaning up south downtown and the I-90 gateways.
The clean team will focus on litter and graffiti abatement.
“Our crews take great pride in their work,” said Paul Lower, DSP Vice President of Clean and Safe Programs. “Weekends like this, when we can showcase our beautiful downtown, make the hard work worth it.”
DSP is also working with the city’s contracted cleanup crew and the Washington State Department of Transportation to remove graffiti along I-90 in the downtown core.
The Pacific Northwest Qualifier is held on the weekends of March 22 and March 28. The Veterans Memorial Arena will host the sweet 16 and elite eight rounds of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament the weekend of March 28.
