SPOKANE, Wash. — A local YouTuber is giving back to the Spokane community this holiday season.
Lucas, known online at Ghoulz, has been creating YouTube videos since he was six years old. He is most known for content surrounding Fortnite and has amassed over 3 million followers and 1 billion views.
“I was always just a weird kid growing up,” he said. “I wanted greenscreens and cameras for Christmas. It was always my passion.”
Now, he is using his platform to help those in need.
“I had this dream that I really wanted to give back for Christmas and help the less fortunate,” Lucas said. “I’m just super thankful I have a team behind me that was able to help organize all this so we can actually really make an impact.”
One of the ways Ghoulz is making that impact is by collecting essential items like clothing and hygiene products and donating them to local organizations such as Blessings and Beyond.
“They needed essential hygiene items and thankfully, the brand Insanely Clean actually sent those to me,” Lucas said. “I just thought it was a perfect opportunity to give back and make as big of a help as I possibly can.”
Blessings and Beyond helps immigrants, refugees and those experiencing homelessness in the Spokane area.
“To be thought of during the holiday season, it means a lot to these people,” said Blessings and Beyond director and founder Jessica Kovac.
Wagoner is grateful for people like Ghoulz.
“I think he’s a true example of what this generation needs to be,” she said.
To Ghoulz, this is all part of the job.
“I just knew that I got this platform for a reason,” he said. “I have to fulfill my purpose and really give it back.”
Giving back and changing the world is Ghoulz’ goal in life, and he’s doing that one donation at a time.
