SPOKANE, Wash. — A local organization committed to helping strengthen security for children and families received an impactful gift this holiday season.
Spokane organization, Vanessa Behan, received a $100,000 donation from The Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort and Casino to support their resources and programs.
The gift will be divided over the next three years to help ensure continued success for the organization and the families it supports.
In October, 4 News Now reported on the impact Vanessa Behan has had on local families over the last 20 years. The organization serves roughly 7,000 children annually.
“We are honored to continue our partnership with The Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort and Casino in our mission to keep kids safe and strengthen our community’s families. This three-year sustaining gift will allow us to expand our reach, and make an even greater impact in the lives of those we serve. We are incredibly grateful for The Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort and Casino’s commitment to creating a brighter future for our kids and community,” said Vanessa Behan Executive Director, Amy Vega.
Curt Holmes, Kalispel Tribal Council Vice Chair and Executive Director of Kalispel Casino & Government Affairs said the donation aligned with the tribe’s values.
“Supporting families and ensuring the well-being of children is at the core of the Kalispel Tribe’s values.
