SPOKANE, Wash. – Five teams up, five teams down.
For the first time since the 2020-21 national finalist season, the No. 3 Gonzaga Bulldogs are 5-0.
Tonight’s opponent was the Long Beach State 49ers (1-4) out of the Big West Conference, and the Zags’ stifling defense and punishing offense combined for a 84-41 win.
Graham Ike and Khalif Battle shared the scoring lead with 15 points each, and Gonzaga now has back-to-back games with zero minutes and zero seconds trailing.
The Bulldogs held the 49ers to 10% shooting from three-point range, shooting just 2-20 from beyond the arc.
Gonzaga has a week off before their opening tournament game in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis against the West Virginia Mountaineers next Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. PST.
