WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — Whitman County Public Health (WCPH) is investigating a whooping outbreak in the county.
As of Nov. 15, 2024, WCPH said there have been 63 confirmed cases of pertussis, representing an increase of 15 cases since November 1, 2024.
WCPH recommends that all current cases be isolated until they have completed the 5-day course of antibiotics prescribed by their provider.

WCPH said, that while the information we have suggests no new cases in the broader community, WCPH has not been able to reach multiple new cases to conduct an interview.
WCPH advises all individuals diagnosed with B. pertussis to isolate until they have completed a 5-day course of antibiotics as prescribed by their healthcare provider.
